Hero clip: the raking light
Steerability call (honest): the prompt asked for one crane rise through five separating coat layers. Seedance instead multiplied the floating boards into a louvre-like stack that grows to fill the frame, ending on a chipboard-textured slab. As a scrub it is hypnotic, but it does not read as "five coats over sound timber", the camera never rises, and the raking-light wall proof is lost by the end.
Hero take 2: the fallback glide (Seedance Mini)
Read: smooth lateral dolly, raking light stays parallel, board shadow lines stay crisp the whole move, and the floating slats drift out of frame right, leaving the pure raking-light wall proof. The brief's designed fallback, and it works: the coat stack moves to a static labelled poster section. Mini quality holds at this darkness level.
Gate special checks
- One house: cream horizontal weatherboards + deep navy sill/trim hold across frames 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and scene 4 v1/v2 (scene 4 v3 slips to vertical boards, flagged below).
- Scene 2 lead-safe: containment sheeting taped below the work area, extraction hose in frame, zero airborne dust. PASS.
- Scene 5 raking angle: work light nearly parallel to the wall; board shadow lines legible at thumbnail size. PASS.
The failing coat
PROPOSED — take 1
Flaking + chalking on the boards, hairline crack off the navy sill, lifted board edge, veranda context, warm afternoon light. Clean pass on the storyboard subject.
The strip
PROPOSED — take 1
Raw timber with feathered edges, taped containment sheeting, extraction hose, gloved hand, no airborne dust. Note: the tool in hand rendered as a brush rather than a scraper; the beat still reads as prep. Faint lettering on the glove is sub-legible at page size — call it if you want a re-roll.
The repairs
PROPOSED — take 1
Clean caulk bead along the sill, grey spot-primer islands across the boards, filling blade in a gloved hand. The dark filler over the sill crack reads mid-repair (wet), which suits the beat.
The system
PROPOSED — take 2
Honest flag: best composition and correct horizontal boards, but a strip of bare wrist shows between glove and sleeve (our storyboard says no skin; CL-1119 itself only bars identifiable faces/brands, and this is neither). Re-roll cap (2) reached, so the call escalates to you: accept take 2 as-is, take another roll, or take v3 below.

Correct boards; bare forearm above the glove (clearest skin breach); stray unmounted roller sleeve.
take 3 — ALTERNATE
Gauntlet glove covers best, but boards went vertical (breaks one-house continuity) and a red badge fragment sits on the shoulder.
The raking light
PROPOSED — take 1
The rake genuinely rakes: shadow lines under every board edge, legible at thumbnail. The exploded stack rendered four floating layers rather than five; the hero clip prompt asks for five separating on the rise, and the fallback (glide-only + labelled poster) stays live at the hero gate.
The reveal
PROPOSED — take 3
Horizontal boards matching the rest of the house, same navy sill profile, fretwork veranda, warm lamp, garden back, and the document cover is fully blank. Clip pulls back from the sill to the full facade from here.
take 1 — REJECTED (composite-safe)
Readable pseudo-text on the document ("LORAM EPSIN…") breaks the illegible-text rule.
take 2 — ALTERNATE
Blank document, beautiful fretwork, but the wall went vertical VJ, breaking board continuity with scenes 1 to 5.
